TBB's Response to SDGs
As a corporate citizen, TBB has taken specific actions and made decisions within the scope of operations of the groups under the jurisdiction of the CSR Committee. By focusing on core issues, TBB maintains its position as a specialized bank and focuses on core businesses for SMEs. We help improve economic development issues by focusing on "the youth, the elderly, and innovation". TBB focused on the three major values and expanded plans for all 17 SDGs. TBB is committed to keep pace with the schedules and take part in the fulfillment of the UN's SDGs. TBB's actions taken in response to SDGs and results thereof as of today are as follows:

TBB's Response to the 17 SDGs

Make full use of the Bank's competencies and end poverty in all its forms everywhere
- In 2020, sponsorship was provided to six additional "Senior Learning Centers" for health promotion for the elderly, social interaction, happy learning, happy dining, and delays in disability. From May 2018 up to the end of 2020, 18 "Senior Learning Centers" have been established, and the accumulated sponsorship has amounted to more than NT$15 million. The cumulative number of senior beneficiaries is approximately 300,000 per year.

Care for disadvantaged groups Share food and end hunger
- TBB continued to sponsor the cost of nutritious breakfasts for Saijia Elementary School, Duona Elementary School, Nanfeng Elementary School, and Shuang Long Elementary School in remote areas for the school year of 2020. From 2011 to 2020, a total of 2,561 people received the sponsorship, and the accumulated amount of sponsorship amounted to NT$15,042,117.
- TBB organized community meal sharing activities in 18 Senior Learning Center across Taiwan and continue to invite the Bank‘s corporate customers to participate in the Senior Learning Center program for the charity's cause.

Provide diverse plans to help achieve healthy and happy life
- TBB promotes the Lucky Birth Consumer Loan to motivate childbirth and alleviate pressure on childcare. As of the end of 2020, the Bank had assisted 1,601 families and provided loans of NT$615,829,000.
- TBB promotes the New Immigrant Housing Loan to facilitate multiethnic integration. As of the end of 2020, the Bank had assisted 64 customers and provided loans of NT$13,750,000.

Promote lifelong learning, diverse learning, and increase professional competencies
- Actively organize industry and entrepreneurship seminars with partners and invite stakeholders of the Bank. Events include the touring lectures of Songnian University, explaining the importance of planning pension assets to the elderly, and seminars organized in collaboration with Soochow University.
- Provided exclusive support for the "Loans for Youth Overseas Experience" program of the Youth Development Administration,Ministry of Education.As of the end of 2020,the Bank had helped 4,717 people fulfill their dreams of going abroad.

Gender equality, equal opportunities, and diverse benefits
- To assist entrepreneurs in obtaining working capital, TBB has offered “Loans for Young Entrepreneurs and Start-ups” and “ Micro Loans for Female Entrepreneurs”. As of the end of December 2020, we had provided the loans under the two programs to a total of 9,712 people with a loan balance of NT$6.302 billion. The applicants included 3,650 female borrowers, who accounted for 37.58%, with a loan balance of NT$2.31 billion.

Implementing sustainability management mechanisms, save energy, reduce carbon emissions, and communicate corporate values
- Promote lifelong learning, diverse learning, and increase professional competencies
- Renovated premises and replaced equipment with sanitary ware certified with the water-saving labeled, or installed water efficient devices (such as dual-flush toilets or water efficient gaskets)

Support the development of green energy industries and work with the government to satisfy funding needs for green energy industry
- To promote the development of the green energy industry and establish an economic model with low carbon emission, TBB launched the "Green Energy Sustainable Project Loan," with enterprises with capital requirements for the purchase of equipment related to renewable energy, pollution prevention, and energy-saving set as financing targets. In 2020, we provided a total of 82 loans in a total amount of NT$1.862 billion.

Create employment competencies for all citizens and work with the government to facilitate regional revitalization
- To assist local youth in starting a business, TBB worked with 14 local governments of Tainan City, Hsinchu City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Taichung City, Taitung County, Changhua County, Chiayi City, Pingtung County, New Taipei City, Kinmen County, Nantou County, Yilan County, and Chiayi County, to provide youth entrepreneurship and SME loans. As of the end of December 2020, the Bank had provided 757 loans amounting to a total of NT$808 million.

Help create affordable and sustainable infrastructure for the people
- Organize consulting services two days each week at the Linkou Startup Terrace and Taoyuan City Start-up and Innovation Service Office and work with major innovation and entrepreneurship courses and exhibitions to provide financing consulting services and assistance resources.

Reduce inequality, fair treatment of customers, and ethical management
- Ranked among top 20% of the financial service providers in the evaluation on the "Principles for Fair Treatment of Customers in the Financial Services Industry" by the Financial Supervisory Commission for two consecutive years from 2019 to 2020.

Establish sustainable cities,Improve dangerous and old buildings and implement urban renewal to jointly create brand-new urban life
- To continue disseminating knowledge related to urban renewal and hazardous and old buildings, TBB jointly organized the 2nd "Urban Renewal Fair and Seminar" with the Wealth Magazine and Land Agent on September 19 and 20, 2020 under the guidance of the Ministry of Interior, Taipei City Government, and New Taipei City Government. Government agencies, financial institutions, and industries related to hazardous and old buildings and urban renewal all gathered at the event to build an information communication platform in the name of the "Nation Team for Urban Renewal". There were over 12,500 participants at the fair, over 1,622 participants at the seminar, and over 5,000 joined the online streaming.
- In 2020, a total of 26 loan cases related to urban renewal,reconstruction of hazardous and old buildings, and relevant marketing were approved in a total loan amount of NT$18.612 billion.

Assist sustainability in industry development and provide assistance for industry transformation and loans for startups
- TBB amended the "Regulations on Project Loans for Green Energy Sustainability" and expanded eligible applicants to natural persons to expand the scope of services. As of the end of December 2020, the Bank had approved the total loan amount of NT$1.331 billion.

Implement energy policies, construct solar power facilities, and continue to save energy and reduce carbon emissions
- The Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan and the Department of Environment Protection of the Taipei City Government rated the TBB as an outstanding entity in green procurement for nine years in a row.
- The construction of photovoltaic facilities for Ta Yuan, Ming Hsiung, and Tai Nan Branches was completed in 2020; the aggregate power generation capacity of said branches is 81.78 KWP.

Protect the marine ecology
- Taiwan is an island nation. TBB has included the environmental protection responsibilities of borrowers into the key evaluation points for loan reviews. We evaluate whether customer operations involve air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution, toxic chemicals, and inventories of greenhouse gas emissions with the aim of reducing the impact of loan customers' products and services on the marine environment.

- Loan businesses are core businesses for TBB. We have included the environmental protection responsibilities of borrowers into the key evaluation points for loan reviews. We evaluate whether customer operations involve air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution, toxic chemicals, and inventories of greenhouse gas emissions with the aim of reducing the impact of loan customers' products and services on the environment.

Implement compliance
- TBB implements compliance and anti-money laundering operations. All employees are required to receive compliance, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing training each year. TBB organizes regular information security and social engineering drills to continue to strengthen the Bank's information security intelligence integration, analysis and response capabilities. The Bank continues to provide information security training to increase the information security awareness of all employees.

Integrate resources to expand sustainability and care Cooperation within the for sustainability
- TBB worked with major associations and community development organizations in creating partnerships, organizing courses, and hosting exhibitions and seminars to consolidate energy for social empowerment and corporate sustainable development. We work hard to spread care for the society and love of the earth across the world.
